Ambasada USA ogłasza nabór do kursów OPEN

Ambasada USA w Warszawie prowadzi rekrutację nauczycieli języka angielskiego do kursów OPEN.

Są to bezpłatne dla uczestników kursy online, na poziomie uniwersyteckim, przygotowane przez amerykańskie uczelnie i finansowane przez amerykański Departament Stanu.

Zgłoszenia przyjmowane są do 30 listopada 2025 r.

Poniżej informacja o dwóch kursach, oferowanych w najbliższej edycji:

 Two OPEN courses are available in the Winter 2026 term (you can apply to one only):

 1/ Fostering Student Motivation and Engagement

Developed by University of Oregon, this course is for English language educators who want to improve their teaching practices and increase their students’ level of motivation and engagement in learning English.  Participants will learn about key concepts and current practices related to motivation and engagement, student needs analysis, community building, differentiated instruction, collaborative learning, project-based learning, gamification and classroom games, formative assessment, and metacognition. Each participant will create a portfolio of activities and ideas that can contribute to increased student motivation and engagement for English language learning.

2/ Trauma-Sensitive Teaching for the English language Classroom

Through this course, delivered by Eastern Washington University, participants will gain an understanding and skills to better work with English language learners affected by conflict, crises, disasters, or displacement. The purpose of this course is to provide educators with a space to reflect on and think critically about the realities and impacts of emergencies on the English language learning environment and to gain knowledge and skills related to teaching practices and advocacy steps that can help students learn in safe environments. Participants will engage in discussion to describe social and emotional learning needs of students in emergency settings, identify English teaching approaches in formal and non-formal education in emergency settings, and create learning environments sensitive who have experienced trauma.

 The courses are 8-week long and will be held online from January 13 to March 9, 2026.  OPEN courses are:

  • Professional development courses developed by U.S. universities and financed by the U.S. Department of State
  • Asynchronous and facilitated by instructors at American universities and institutions
  • Offering learning from diverse perspectives and access to high quality teaching and learning resources
  • Offering certificates and digital badges issued by the U.S. Department of State for all those who pass the course. 

Candidates must:

  • Be English language professionals (preferred)
  • Have strong English language reading and writing skills
  • Be living in Poland for the entire duration of the course
  • Have regular and reliable access to high-speed internet connection
  • Be able to spend 10 to 12 hours online each week for the duration of the 8-week course.

Timeline:

November 30, 2025 – application deadline

By December 8, 2025 – enrolment notification

December 22, 2025 - January 8, 2026 – orientation course, mandatory, self-paced

January 13 to March 9, 2026 – OPEN course
